With our Data Forms feature, system admins can create rubric templates for use by various Roles and Groups in your system for Observations, Data Forms, and Self Assessments. When authoring a Rubric, you can implement Manual Scoring to allow for users to insert a specific score of their own choosing.
Enable Your Rubric for Scoring
To ensure your Rubric Template can allow for Manual Scoring, you must first author the template as a 'Rubric' type form via the Data Forms authoring tool. Learn more about authoring a Rubric Template here.
Scoring can only be applied to Rubric Grid components. When assembling your Rubric Grid components, be sure to toggle ON 'Scored' at the top of each component to ensure a score is calculated for it.
NOTE: When filling out your Rubric Grid components, you will still need to create a general Criteria Rating Scale and answer choices for each criteria row, but these will only act as a guide for the user completing the rubric.
Enable Manual Scoring
To fully enable Manual Scoring, open your template's Settings tab. Then scroll down to the Rubric section. At the top of the Rubric section, you will find a 'Manual Scoring Override' toggle. Click on the toggle to ON to enable manual scoring for all Rubric Grid components in your template.
If Manual Scoring is enabled, users completing a data form, observation, or self assessment with this template will be able to enter a manual score of any numeric value for each criteria row.
NOTE: When Manual Scoring is enabled, it cannot be reverted for that template.
Previewing Manual Scoring (from a Participant View)
If Manual Scoring is enabled, users completing a data form, observation, or self assessment with this template will find a text box at the bottom of each criteria row. Here they can manually enter any number they want, and the score for the Rubric Grid and the Overall Score of the rubric will automatically update!
