How to create and manage Goals

In Talent, any user can create goals for themselves. However, only Admins and Coaches can create goals for others. 

• Admins can set and modify goals for other Admins and for Coaches and Mentees.
• Coaches can set and modify goals for other other Coaches and Mentees.
• Mentees can set goals for themselves but only Admins and Coaches can manage their goals.

If you wish to create or manage goals for users, you can do so by first selecting 'Coaching Corner.' From there, click 'Goals.'

On the next page you are by default brought to the 'Goals for Others' page where you can see active and mastered goals for all others in the system that were created by you, other Coaches, and Admins. Both Active Goals and Mastered Goals can be Filtered by Name by typing in the user’s name in the box.

If you wish to set a new goal, you can select 'New Goal,' find the user who you wish to set the goal for, enter that goal, add a due date, and any Action Steps if desired, then press 'Save Goal & Action Steps.'

If you expand the goal by pressing the plus button, you can tag the goal with any Rubric Competencies by choosing the rubric you wish to tag it with, and selecting different aspects of the rubric that this goal aligns with.

To mark an Action Step complete, press the checkbox next to that Action Step.

To manage goals for a user, locate them and slide the bar to mark the goal any percentage of complete.

Once you mark a goal as 100% complete, it is moved to the 'Mastered Goals' table.

If you wish to delete a goal for a user, you can hover over the Actions icon and press 'Delete.'

To view your own goals in this system, you can select 'My Goals' from the left-hand side. Here you will see goals that have been created by you, other coaches, and admins. If you are a Mentee, you cannot modify a goal you set for yourself after it’s been modified by a Coach. 

Another way to manage and set goals in your system is to select the 'Users' tab in Coaching Corner.

Find the user for whom you wish to set a goal, select their name, and press the 'Goals' page.
